Even Cheaper & Lazier Filament Spindle

Even Cheaper & Lazier Filament Spindle

thingiverse

This design is inspired by Jaylan's C&LFS, but differs in cost and effort. It's affordable as it uses only printable parts like marbles and omits nuts, bolts, and other non-printable items. It's also less labor-intensive; only two files named 'spindle' were specifically designed for this project, while the rest of the components come from ongoing designs, potentially fitted loosely due to laziness. Krazy Glue substitutes any missing elbow grease. To assemble, print ten spindle wedges, eight curved arms, a square axel, two couplings, and a 9v holder. Assemble the bottom ring with five wedges on a flat surface. Insert the axel into a side slot, attach a coupling, a curved arm, another coupling, and a curved arm to the first one. Place the 9v holder onto the end. Add fewer marbles than needed to fill the track completely. Construct the top track with the remaining five wedges and attach the remaining arms to the side slots, facing downwards. Finally, place the assembly on the marbles and secure it if necessary. For marbles, avoid toy section in HugeMart; instead, visit arts & crafts.
