Eve

Human: Adam's companion Eve is a pivotal figure in the Book of Genesis within the Hebrew Bible. According to the creation myth of Abrahamic religions, she was humanity's first woman. In Islamic tradition, Eve is known as Adam's wife and the first woman although her name isn't explicitly mentioned in the Quran. The second chapter of Genesis states that God (Yahweh) created Eve by taking a rib from Adam, to be his partner. She gives in to the serpent's temptation to eat the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. She shares the fruit with Adam, resulting in the first humans being expelled from the Garden of Eden. Christian churches vary on how they view both Adam and Eve's disobedience to God (often called humanity's fall), and the consequences those actions had on the rest of mankind. Christian and Jewish teachings sometimes place Adam (the first man) and Eve at different levels of responsibility for the fall, although Islamic teaching holds them equally responsible. Although Eve isn't a saint's name, the traditional name day of Adam and Eve has been celebrated on December 24 since the Middle Ages in many European countries such as Germany, Hungary, Scandinavia, Estonia, and Lithuania.
