Francesca Borelli, born in Rome, Italy in 1993, pursued her education in the same city and has created a product for Oluce that revolves around the intricate connection between light, form, and movement. Eva is a table lamp made of metal that explores contrasts, empty and solid, bright and dark, turning theoretical concepts into tangible reality. The interaction between humans and objects assumes great importance, introducing an element of playfulness and constant surprise to the lighting experience. The body of the object is a hollow sphere containing the LED light source; it has an opening on one side and rests on a slender cylindrical base. The interior of the ball is concealed by a surface that nearly perfectly completes it, closing like a self-recomposing sphere with the exception of a circular, luminous spiral that evokes the phenomenon of an eclipse. As this circular surface moves toward the interior or exterior of the ball, it allows varying amounts of light to pass through, creating intimate and diffused atmospheres, and revealing glimpses of the fine gold leaf walls inside the Eva lamp with degrees of clarity. This design is available in two timeless colors: white and black, reminiscent of the moon and astronomical phenomena that conceal it.
