EV Lightning

The pilot, while boasting some bravado, would still be a valuable addition to your printed desktop fleet; his Lightning fighter is a top-notch defensive ship. This recreation of the Lightning from the 1996 Macintosh shareware game "Escape Velocity" will print at 1:250 scale with no adjustments. Print with support material. You may be able to get away without it, but using at least a thin first layer brim would be useful, as there's little contact area with the build surface. Use a 0.12mm layer height or thinner. While thicker layers are possible, jagged edges on the trailing edges of the wings will become more pronounced. After printing, sand or cut before applying primer and paint. I'm especially interested in seeing how this looks on a resin printer. I don't own one, so uploading your print would be especially appreciated! Please do not use the "Tip Designer" button for this piece. I wish I could recommend registering the original game, but since the publisher is defunct, there's no opportunity to do so. As the original author of the game is an aviation enthusiast, I suggest making a donation to your nearest Angel Flight organization.
