EV J1772 Type 1 Connector Dust Cap - Various types
thingiverse
Hey guys, First off, I'm excited to share this design after scouring many websites for one that suited me. After failing to find a suitable dust cover cap for my Type 1 lead, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create one myself. Although my lead is typically partially covered, I encountered an issue where my external charger would malfunction after heavy rain, likely due to moisture in the connector. Recently acquiring a 3D Printer (Anet A8) gave me the opportunity to make my own solution. I've uploaded four .stl files for your review: ** EV Type 1 Connector Cap: ** This is a basic cap with no means of securing it anywhere. ** EV Type 1 Connector Cap with hole: ** Similar to the above, but featuring a loop hole for attachment to the lead. Initially, I considered using an elastic band to secure it. ** EV Type 1 Connector attachment: ** Designed for use with option 2, this is a connector long enough to attach to most leads. ** EV Type 1 Connector Cap with connector: ** A cap with no loop, instead featuring a pre-attached connector. This is the version I'm currently using in the accompanying images. All four designs are pictured above. Printed using TPU filament, these caps have a slight give when attaching them, ensuring a snug fit that doesn't come loose even when shaken.
