Eurycantha horrida

This is a specimen of Eurycantha horrida, a stick insect species native to Papua New Guinea's rainforests. Found in trees, shrubs, or on the ground, these nocturnal insects range between 12 and 14 centimeters in length and display hues of green or brown. Females tend to be larger, lighter, and thicker than males, whereas males sport a prominent spike on their hind legs' femurs, as illustrated by this model specimen.
