Eurovan Weekender Cabin Light LED Conversion

These are two parts that facilitate replacing the fluorescent lights in the original cabin lights with LED strips. The original housing is deep to accommodate the original bulbs, so the shelf fits into the space and orients the LEDs closer to the lens housing and orients the LEDs outward. The cap clips onto the back of the original housing and provides easier access to the electronics. To build this, you must remove the original bulbs, electronics, and ballast. Source good quality soft-white 12v LED strips or 12v COB LED strips. Tack-glue the shelf into the original fixture (I used six small dabs of gorilla glue on the bottom of the feet of the shelf) and attach LED strips to the top of it. Wire the LEDs to the original switch and connect to the 12v and ground connections in the original mounting locations. Or you can add a dimmer as I did along with the switch. If you choose this route, there is add'l wiring required and you'll need a variable 12v motor controller board and dimmer (several available on ebay, amazon, aliexpress, etc).
