Eurovan low-profile LED brake light
thingiverse
This design is a plug-and-play thin replacement for the bulky 3rd brake light used in the US Eurovan. Why might you want to do this??? Because if you have a "weekender" or "multi-van" version of the Eurovan, you'll find the original OEM brake light interferes with the snap-around privacy curtains. You have to stretch and pull the curtains over the brake light. It's also based on 80's incandescent bulb technology. This replacement accommodates the original "T-channel" mounting points which are attached to the Eurovan's rear hatch glass. Here's how you build it... 1. Acquire an LED brake panel like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BQ97951C?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details 2. Print the stop light base and cover. 3. Remove the leads from the connector on the LED. 4. Glue the LED panel to the stop light base. 5. Slide the stop light panel onto the Eurovan t-rails. Insert the Eurovan 3rd brake light connector into the base. 6. Insert the LED panel leads into the holes on the stop light base. Hop into your Eurovan and press the brake pedal to ensure you have the leads inserted into the correct holes. If the LEDs don't illuminate, swap the leads and re-insert/test. 7. After you've confirmed the wiring is working, glue the leads to the stop-light base. 8. Slide the stop light cover onto the base until it clicks into position. DONE! Even though you've glued the LED panel leads to the base, you can still plug and unplug the vehicle connector into the assembly in case you ever need to replace it. Keep your original 3rd brake light just in-case...
