I'm working on a software project to do with data privacy for the European GDPR legislation, and we decided to have a team t-shirt made up (because why not?), and our t-shirt design is of a flying saucer beaming up someone because their data has been deleted. My colleague suggested we should make a flying saucer to use as a token in our team standup meetings. So I'm searching Thingiverse today to see if there is something similar, and gpvillamil's design was the first hit. It was almost perfect for our purposes. I needed to change the proportions slightly, and also add the stars of the European flag in place of the bumps on the top. Of course Eurosaucers don't have bumps on the bottom. I ended up printing the whole saucer as one piece, as my printer bed is not perfectly flat, and it would be unlikely that a PLA print from it would match up if I printed it in parts. I have included the STL files to print it either way. Of course if you print in one piece you are going to need supports. If you want to customise further you'll need the dotSCAD library from https://github.com/JustinSDK/dotSCAD as I used the pentagram shape to make the stars.
With this file you will be able to print Eurosaucer with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Eurosaucer.
