Eurorack Modular Synth (7U) Stand

This project was specifically created for my friend Brett. The goal is simple: raise and tilt his modular synth setup. I designed this object using Fusion 360, which I recently started playing with. It seemed like a perfect fit when the project came up. I asked Brett to provide me with the dimensions of his Eurorack. As it's a rectangle, designing around it wasn't difficult. The most challenging part was creating something large enough and at the requested tilt that could still be printed on my Prusa i3 MK3. I added fillets around the edges to make it look more professional and not worry about rough edges. I'd probably make the gaps between lattice legs larger if I were to change anything. Mounting the front and back together was a bit annoying, but I'm fine with it as is. I prefer the added strength, even though removing one of the legs would allow for bigger gaps. To build this object, you'll need M5x20 screws (4), M5 nuts (4 - nylock preferred), and 1/2" dowels (3). If your print bed is large enough, you can print both front and back at the same time. In Slic3rPE, I rotated the back piece 180 degrees for printing. These settings are with a 0.4mm nozzle; adjust accordingly. Layer height: 0.2mm Perimeters: 3 (at least 1mm thick wall recommended) Infill: 25% (could go higher but these parts were heavy and feel solid to me) Supports: NOPE, no support needed. Print both pieces twice to ensure stability. Once your front and back are printed, grab the screws, nuts, and needle nose pliers. Putting the front and back together will be fun - take one screw and tilt it at an angle to the back stand, then place the tip into a hole and tilt until it's straight. Use the pliers to spin the screw until it's stable. Repeat with each screw, then grab the front and line up the partially sticking out bits before spinning the screws in fully. Once done, throw on the nuts and you're almost there. Do all of this twice, then add your dowels. Brett's hardware store had mislabeled their dowels, so he whittled them down to fit securely.
