europound three anti-warp mould
thingiverse
I place pound coins on the heat table away from the raft footprint so that they heat up as I build. As the build exceeds the height of the raft plus the height of a pound coin, I simply place a pound coin edge onto the raft. With every increase in height, I add more pound coins to stop the raft warping. The bigger the model, the more coins I need. To get the height for insertion right, I've made some moulds that can be added close to the raft so that the rims overlap and create a wider raft where the weight of the coins acts as a levered weight to help prevent warping. As the model climbs, when the next height wall starts to show, I slip another pound coin in. I've put one, two, and three height moulds for coin application online: europound one, europound two, and europound three for one, two, and three coins respectively. Simply place them where their rafts will overlap with the main model, orientating them for easy access if needed.
