Eurofighter Typhoon 3d model
cgstudio
This is a very detailed model of the Eurofighter Typhoon (EFA), including four texture sets and eight weapon systems. The model itself is extremely lightweight, with just 14,900 faces without armament, allowing animation of much more scenery geometry or additional models simultaneously, and increasing render speed dramatically. All major components are animate-able. Armament includes: AGM-88 HARM in high detail; AIM-7 Sparrow in medium detail; AIM-9X Sidewinder in medium detail; AIM-120 AMRAAM in high detail; BL-755 Cluster bomb in high detail; Brimstone Anti-Armor Missiles in high detail; GBU-16 Paveway in medium detail; Matra R.550 Magic 2 in high detail; Triplet sub-harness; Center Tank. Included in the main model mesh are the AIM-9X Sidewinder and the Brimstone Anti-Armor Missiles. Other weapons are included in ZIP files within the main product archive, and can be imported into the model scene and parented as needed. Each weapon contains anywhere from 500 to 3,000 poly faces. Textures include color, specular, and bump maps. Photoshop templates are provided for easy modification of markings or designation. The main model is textured for the RAF version, and other textures are downloaded as extras. Textures include: UK - RAF Version; Germany - Luftwaffe Version; Italy - Italian Version; Saudi - Saudi Royal Air Force Version. In the mid 1970s France, Germany, and the UK established the European Combat Aircraft programme (ECA). In 1979, following differing requirements, British Aerospace (BAe) and Messerschmitt-Blkow-Blohm proposed the European Combat Fighter (ECF). The development of different national prototypes and continued differences over specification led to cancellation of the ECF programme in 1981. The maiden flight of the Eurofighter prototype took place on March 27, 1994. Peter Weger, Messerschmitt-Blkow-Blohm chief test pilot, took the prototype on a test flight around Bavaria. The 1990s saw significant arguments over work share, the specification of the aircraft, and even participation in the project. When the final production contract was signed in 1997, the revised procurement totals were as follows: UK 232; Germany 180; Italy 121; Spain 87. Production was again allotted according to procurement: British Aerospace (37%); DASA (29%); Aeritalia (19.5%); and CASA (14%). The project has been named and renamed a number of times since its inception, having been known as EFA (European Fighter Aircraft), Eurofighter, EF2000 (Eurofighter 2000), and most recently Typhoon.
