Have you seen Locknoob make a cutaway without any power tools here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7kGco-KszA

I did too and tried this at home. All the cuts were crooked and lame.

I designed this holder to make the cuts completely straight and aligned.

Steps to work with the tool:

Preparation:

2 7x7 M4 nuts and 2 M4 screws to hold the lock in place.

Insert the two nuts from the sides and tighten with the screws so that the screws don't block the cylinder from being inserted in the holder.

Making the cutaway:

Mark the positions where you want to cut with a small dot or a line.

Insert the euro cylinder so that one of the marks aligns with one of the slots in the holder.

If you are cutting the core inside the body of the lock (recommended) insert 2 drill bits in some other pin chambers so that the core doesn't move when cutting.

Put 2 hacksaws in the hacksaw handle (for a thicker cut) and cut away in the selected slot.

Repeat until all the places are cut.

You can clamp the holder in a vice where the thin area is. It will hold it in place while you are cutting.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

I3 MK3S

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

25%

Filament: Hatchbox PLA White

Notes:

You don't need supports if you print it with the nut holes facing down.

Category: Tool Holders & Boxes
