A rare, ancient Greek marble sculpture of the renowned playwright Euripides stands proudly on display. Created sometime between 100 and 200 years ago in the style of the Pentelic school, this exceptional piece measures 0.42 meters tall and 0.29 meters wide at its shoulders. This significant acquisition was made possible through a purchase in 1966 by the esteemed Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, England. Detailed records of this magnificent find can be found in several reputable sources. In the archaeological journal "Recent Acquisitions by the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge," published between 1970 and 1971, Richard V. Nicholls provides a comprehensive account of this discovery, including a photograph (fig.3) that showcases its exquisite details. Additionally, German art historian G.M.A. Richter's work, "Archeologia Classica: Rivista Dell'Istituto Di Archeologia Della Università di Roma," published in 1967, features an illustration of this remarkable sculpture on plate 105.
