The main deck of the Eureka wreck lies 120 feet deep in Lake Ontario. This extensive underwater scene was captured using Agisoft Metashape to combine 409 photographs into a single image. The sticks are one meter long, providing a sense of scale for this massive structure. A Nikon D500 camera was used to take these photos, set to manual mode with area autofocus and a focal length of 12 mm at the widest point of its 12-24mm lens. An ISO setting of 800 and a shutter speed of 1/125th of a second were chosen, along with an aperture of f/8.0. The camera was housed in an Aquatica AD500 underwater case, complete with a Dome 8” port. Two Ikelite DS161 strobes provided additional lighting for this impressive scene. This image is the property of Roger Lacasse and is copyrighted 2020.
