Eufy 10S Replacement Whisker Middle Gear
thingiverse
Note: The Fusion 360 and STL files included have the hole cut for the 2mm metal pin spindle, unlike the preview image. My Eufy 10S has a habit of picking up cords and things, and one of the gearboxes was broken in the process. I found teeth from the gear scattered inside. I used GF Gear Generator to create a replacement combination helical and spur gear set. I measured the helical pitch by coating the old one in ink and rolling it on paper. Then I used the callipers to measure a triangle I drew on the surface. I used those 3 lengths to calculate the angle of the pitch. It is 20 degrees. The spur gear is, a spur gear and has the same spacing as the helical gear at 0.5. (0.8 measured on the original gear, but with tolerance for my 3D printer. The print I made was improved greatly by purchasing silent stepper motor drivers for my printer. The fidelity you can see in the sub millimetre FDM print is phenomenal. I highly recommend this upgrade! I printed it in the only filament I have around right now: some really old wood filament. My relative humidity in my office right now is 60 as we are in a heat wave and this still printed fine. Printer: Geeetech A10M Software: Cura The gear may perform noisily compared to the original unbroken one at first. This *should* work itself out with wear as the gears mesh properly together. Lithium grease can also help this. If anyone knows of ways I could improve this, let me know! I'm not a mechanical engineer and this is my first gear print.
