Eucalyptus Agony Tree
sketchfab
I crafted this Eucalyptus tree for the surreal horror game EDEN. The game unfolds within an isolated manor situated deep in Australian bushland, amidst the turmoil of World War II. This secluded estate had stood vacant for many years since its construction in the 1870s and subsequent use as an orphanage. Over time, the surrounding environment has reclaimed the structure, evident in decaying rooms and thriving plant life within its walls. The Eucalyptus tree towers above a doorframe, with its roots embracing the room's framework. Reaching up towards the light streaming through the skylight above, it appears to writhe in agony. This design mimics human form and illustrates that true liberation can only be achieved by merging with the manor. Our game received widespread acclaim at PAX Aus. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and we're honored to have contributed to such a distinctive title.
