They are leaders of ettin tribes in the wild, ruling their lesser kin with the mixture of physical might and both arcane and divine magic. They are frequently priests of dark and long-forgotten monstrous gods, eternally hungry for sacrifices so they lead their subjects in raids on human villages in order to gather sacrifices and loot. There are sages who thing that those shamans are descendants of some extinct race of cyclopses, since they almost always have a head with one central eye only and they tend to have at least some measure of clairvoyant and divining powers.
