<p>Kayak mount for a Garmin Etrex Legend GPS receiver. Mine has a serial port, no USB.</p><h3>Print Settings</h3><p><strong>Printer Brand:</strong></p><p>Prusa</p><p><strong>Printer:&nbsp;</strong></p><p>i3 MK2S</p><p><strong>Rafts:</strong></p><p>Doesn't Matter</p><p><strong>Supports:&nbsp;</strong></p><p>No for mount, Yes for base</p><p><strong>Resolution:</strong></p><p>0.2mm</p><p><strong>Infill:&nbsp;</strong></p><p>15%</p><p><strong>Filament:</strong> Generic ABS Yellow</p><p><br>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Notes:</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>ABS since this is used in full sun</p><p>How I Designed This:</p><p>The mount is a remix of JosefE's model on Thingiverse.</p><p>For the mount:</p><ol><li>Opened JosefE's mount in freeCad, then exported it as a .step file.</li><li>&nbsp;Opened the .step file in Alibre to do the editing. Unfortunately I don't know freeCAD that well.</li></ol><p>For the base, I created it in Alibre.</p><h3>Custom Section</h3><p>JosefE's mount is awesome - it fits the outline of the Etrex like a glove. I lowered the sides so that the Etrex touches the bottom. I added a lip to retain the top of the Etrex. I added a hole at the bottom to allow a latch to reach the hole in the Etrex where a lanyard is normally attached.</p><p>The base has the retaining latch. I printed the base upright so the latch is on the print bed. This is to maximize the strength of the latch. You'll need to enable supports for the base.
