Etiopia (IT for Ethiopia) is a cutting-edge open-source off-road racing vehicle, designed to conquer challenging terrains such as grasslands, savannahs, deserts, mountains, and swamps at high speeds. Inspired by the grueling Dakar race, this innovative project aims to bridge the gap between on-road and off-road performance. The sleek, aerodynamic bodywork incorporates advanced features from circuits like Le Mans, while the robust frame draws inspiration from Mars rovers for unparalleled durability in rough terrain. Powered by two electric motors - one at the front and one at the back - Etiopia relies on a battery pack recharged by solar panels and KERS for energy. Each of its all-terrain, pneumatically controlled wheels boasts an independent pneumatic traction and damping system. The tires are puncture-proof and feature studded sides for grip in curves and bumps, with slick centers for smoothness on straights. A hidden spare wheel is tucked under the car's hump for emergencies. LED headlights provide ample lighting at both the front and rear of the vehicle, strategically placed throughout the design.
