Ethernet (RJ45) COMPLETELY :: broken Plug lock-tab fix
cults3d
This is an easy and effective fix for when your ethernet cable's lock-tab breaks completely, leaving no tab at all to re-crimp those plugs with. The design builds on my previous work at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1085954, modified as requested. This new version sits snugly on the back of the plug and keeps it securely in place. Printed in translucent PLA, I found that there was no need for a raft or supports due to using a heated bed with BuildTak surface, but a small brim might be necessary. For those who prefer to glue this device onto their broken connector instead, simply attach it at the very back where it lies flat; personally, I find the full version more reliable as it holds the connector firmly from underneath.
