Etherfields Full Box Insert

EDIT: Jan 11 2021, added new v2 files for some components -- see below for details. EDIT: JAN 16 2021, fixed tile card box dimensions -- I'd rendered it too long due to a silly mistake, sorry! :: :: :: :: :: This is designed to serve as a replacement to the core insert and trays that are included with the base Etherfields game. I created this because I did not order the separate box for sleeved cards, and was not happy with the fit of the cards in the original tray once I added sleeves to just the player decks and the core game decks (turns, seasons, flaws, etc.). You can see a guide for how the trays fit into the box here: https://imgur.com/gallery/HLXpxct The only component that is retained from the original insert is the base miniatures tray (the one containing the core dreamers, first player token, shapeshifters, etc.). All other elements of the core insert (dividers and the storage tray) are discarded. Note that this insert should fit all of the cards in the base game comfortably, including those for the Thorn Knight and Reaper expansions. However, it assumes that only SOME of the cards in the game will be sleeved: 1) All dreamer deck cards are sleeved 2) All turn, fate, item, flaw, and season cards are sleeved 3) Secrets cards are NOT sleeved 4) Influence market cards are NOT sleeved until purchased 5) Tile cards are NOT sleeved I have provided the OpenSCAD files I used to create all of the elements of the insert to allow you to customize and reconfigure the trays to better suit your needs, if you're using a different setup for your sleeves or other game components. There are two spots that are unused in the box currently -- one next to the player boards, and one next to the masks -- which I expect will be filled with components provided in some of the Wave 2 expansions. The Balthazar mini tray is also about 25-30mm deeper than it needs to be, so that's another place where I can look to better optimize the box real estate down the road. I recommend lining the components in the two miniatures trays with bubble wrap. I realize that this is gross. If anyone has suggestions for remixing the trays to provide better support for the minis, I'd love to hear them! I'm still very new to 3D design. A few cautions: first, the insert will add about a centimeter of lid lift if you're packing the board in the box. If not, everything should fit perfectly. Second, please note that using this insert WILL make the overall box heavier. I do not know how well the core box will be able to support the weight over time. For now, I'm supporting the bottom of the box while I lift it. Huge thanks to the following Thingiverse creators for the following projects I used to create some of these trays: * The original parametric box with sliding lid, originally developed here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:468917 (used for the two counter boxes) * The Board Game Insert Toolkit: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3405465 (used for the two mini trays) INSERT COMPONENTS ================== * Balthazar Box: Used to store the Balthazar mini and the Thorn Knight mini. * Bits Lid: There are two lid options for the two token trays ("bits tray" and "signs tray"): one includes a cutout of the Etherfields game logo on the lid face, and the other has a blank/flat lid face * Board Box: Stores all of the player boards * Core Card Box: Stores all of the player decks, turns deck, items deck, flaws deck, seasons deck, influence cards, and "Do Not Open" decks * Counter Boxes: One for large counters (red, white, and clear stones), and one for smaller counters (shining gems, influence tokens, and dice) * Mask Box: Stores all player masks * Minis Box: Stores all Lucid Dreamer minis, reaper minis, and mask stands, with an unused spot for future components * Minis Lids: Print two of these for the Bathazar and Minis boxes * Secrets Box: Stores all poker-sized Secrets cards * Signs Tray: Stores all Signs tokens, Morphing tokens, Spirit tokens, and Block tokens. Includes two cutouts for storing signs that are in play * Tile Cards Box: Stores all square tile cards * Tokens Tray: Stores State tokens, Hole token, keys, Threat tokens, Character tokens, Scenario tokens, Light/Dark tokens, Water tokens, and Blank tokens UPDATE: V2 FILES ADDED ===================== * Width of both minis trays (and lids) decreased from 193mm to 162mm -- two wells used for tokens in mini tray removed altogether * Length of poker-sized card boxes (core and secrets) increased from 148mm to 154mm -- increased ease of card searching * Length of tile box increased from 117.5mm to 147mm -- increased ease of tile searching * Tweaked the design of the small counter box, giving the largest chamber flexibility for storing monster tokens or mask stands
