Etched Honeycomb Glass
thingiverse
A 9" x 9" etched honeycomb pattern on a glass plate is designed for use with heatbeds in Japica Print2bot or Printrbot printers, among others. For ease, take the file to a local sign-making shop that will vinyl cut it at low cost. After getting the vinyl cut, clean the glass, apply the vinyl, mask off uncovered areas using tape, and apply a chemical etching cream like Armour Etch. Follow the bottle's instructions, leave for 10-15 minutes, wash off the cream, remove vinyl and tape, and clean with glass cleaner. This pattern not only looks cool but may also help plastic adhesion during extrusion. Note that the effectiveness of this feature is yet to be confirmed. Sign shops can work with Illustrator files for this task.
