This redesigned board is based on MakerBot's Temperature Sensor version. To simplify home-etching and soldering procedures, I relocated all primary wiring to the reverse side. Home-etched boards lack plated through-holes, necessitating soldering on both sides for thru-hole connections. I included a via and opted for SMT components for the LED and current-limiting resistor. A capacitor was added to improve power conditioning. The board outline is modified to accommodate mounting alongside the extruder carriage (EC) using its top screws. Photos show the prototype without the outline and capacitor additions.
