ET & Super Moon Lithophane
thingiverse
Don't forget to witness the spectacular Supermoon! Sadly, it was obscured by clouds here. The printable design used is from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:66115. Expect some challenges in achieving this model's perfection; it was printed with an almost black blue shade. For better results, consider using a lighter color and adjusting the settings accordingly. ET, a registered trademark of Universal Pictures, is not affiliated with this project. Be cautious while removing this intricate print from the bed as it is extremely delicate. A thick paper may help in gently prying it off after you've initiated an edge. For optimal results, use Cura 13.06 or later versions and ensure your printer is calibrated for the Ultimaker settings specified below: - A very level bed - run it thrice for precision. - Layer height: 0.06 MM. - Infill percentage: 100%. - Initial layer thickness: 0.15 MMs. - Cut off object bottom: 0.3MMs. - X and Y scale: 120%. - Z scale: 90%. To make things easier, I've included the GCode for an Ultimaker print. Enjoy!
