eSun Spool Drawers
thingiverse
Expandable eSun Spool Drawer System. This project is a spin-off of several upcycling spool drawer projects, specifically designed for eSun spools. While not a direct remix of any listed project, I drew inspiration from them for various design aspects. One piece, Bearing_wheel.stl, is a direct copy of the Universal Stand-Alone Filament Spool Holder, which inspired the turntable used here and saved me from reinventing the wheel. There are two drawer designs: one with a label holder and another without. If you're only using one spool, you won't need the extension or link file. Post-Printing Instructions: The drill guide fits snugly over the ribs on the inner part of the spool. It may require some effort to fit it in place, so start with a small bit and drill a pilot hole. I used a 2mm bit followed by a 3.5mm bit. The drawer pegs should fit tightly into the holes on the drawers. The bottom of each peg is slightly larger than the top. To help identify top and bottom, there's a hole at the bottom of each peg. The wheels are kept in place with a push-fit of 1.75mm filament. This should hold without any glue, but if you find them loose, a small drop of super glue on the outside will fix them in place. Just be sure not to get any glue on the inside and stick the wheel there instead. The spindle peg has a slot for adjusting after attaching the spindle. You can tighten it down to minimize free play between the spindle and base. If you want to add more than one spool, print an extension for each additional spool. The link pins are optional but useful for keeping the spools locked together when they turn.
