eSun ReSpoola - A spool for eSun Respool Refills.
thingiverse
I'm not one for waiting around, and the spools I managed to find for my eSun Refills were taking forever to print. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and design a custom solution. My goal was to create something that would print as quickly as possible while using minimal filament without sacrificing too much strength. So far, it's been holding up remarkably well. Printing this spool is a breeze – simply lay it flat on the bed. The design relies on countersunk M5x25-30mm X 2 screws to hold everything together. A quick tap with a screwdriver will secure them in place. There are four slots for filament ends on each side of the spool. To load the roll, push the start into the holes on Part A, and then simply push the end of the filament into the holes on Part B – see the photos for clarification. I've noticed that eSuns refills can have inconsistent tension in their winding, so you may need to add a bit of padding. I've found masking tape to be an effective solution. In future iterations, I'm planning to make this spool adjustable and have Part A and B clip together rather than using screws.
