Estes USS Hyperion (kit# 1383) Fin Can

This is a fin can designed for the Estes USS Hyperion model rocket kit (#1383) that was manufactured from 1982 to 1983. It's designed to fit on the Estes BT-50 airframe tubing. The Hyperion is a futuristic and exotic design and marketed by Estes as "Deep space cruiser of the 22th century with unique ring tail design. Files for the fin can with rings are rounded and unrounded with the original (cruciform) fin pattern as well as 3-fin, 5-fin, and 6-fin versions. Another set of files has the fin can without the rings in case you want to add your own paper tube tubes or 3d printed tubes. The paper tube rings are the following sizes: Small Ring: Estes BT-60 tubing (1 inch or 25.4mm width) Medium Ring: Estes BT-80 tubing (1 inch or 25.4mm width) Large Ring: Estes BT-101 tubing (1inch or 25.4mm width) There are also 3D printed ring files for the above sizes. There is a file for a original marking guide for use in making your own fins out of balsa, basswood, or other material based on the original fin pattern. I recommend using balsa that is 3/32" (2.4mm) or 1/8" (3.0mm) thick.
