Essex County Fire Badge
thingiverse
I created this special gift for my dad's birthday - it's an exact replica of the Essex County precinct fire & rescue logo where he used to work. This stunning 3D plaque measures 150mm in diameter, roughly equivalent to 6 inches, and features raised text banners, a curved shield, and swords derived from the original logo design. For ease of printing, painting, and assembly, parts are carefully split. The base of the plaque has holes cut into each of its four cardinal arms, designed for 5mm diameter x 2mm depth circular neodymium magnets. If you want to mount this plaque like a fridge magnet, simply insert the magnets using Super Glue - it's that easy! I achieved the beautiful finish by painting with basic carmine acrylic first, which helped bring out the red tones in the lowest areas. Then, I layered Rub n' Buff Silver Leaf and Antique Gold on top for highlights and edges. The result is a stunning satin/matte metallic effect that truly shines.
