The highest hill of the old Calabazas field is home to an unmarked grave that locals avoid mentioning, believing it to be cursed. Who wouldn't believe with the legends swirling around the tomb? Ancient rituals take place on the hill. Spectral lights, strange noises, and shadowy figures lurking about are some of the tales told. Some claim accidental deaths in town are caused by a spirit dwelling there, while others say skulls of victims end up inside the tomb with marks appearing behind the headstone to indicate how many have been taken. The most popular legend claims that if you gaze at the hill on a full moon night and manage to see the ghostly body of a decapitated young woman holding a skull in her lap, you'll be the next to die.
