Espuun is an assistance device for autonomous learning in children with functional diversity from initiation up to 5 years old. This device was specifically designed to hold a spoon or fork, but it could be used as an aid in other activities too. Espuun is lightweight and flexible. The inner housing of the tool is positioned at an angle to assist users in performing their movements. The integrated handle of the Espuun ensures that even when the user's grip becomes weak due to fatigue, the device will not slip out of their hand. For older children, we recommend scaling up the length or thickness of the Espuun to accommodate their larger hands more comfortably. This device was created by Mercedes Llorens, a member of the multidisciplinary research group Artefactos (https://www.artefactos.org). If you need to customize or print your own Espuun, just contact our laboratory for assistance.
