EspressoBin HDD Storage Enclosure

EspressoBin HDD Storage Enclosure

I had two EspressoBins laying around and needed an enclosure. Lets you pair an 3.5" SATA drive with the SBC. Be aware that I have designed this around the first release of the EspressoBin (v5 I believe). If you have a v7 I can't guarantee that it'll fit.

The screw holes prints with threads, but the fit is a bit tight so I run through them with a tap before assembly. You also need to take a pair of flush cutters and snip away the supports between the ethernet ports.

In addition to the printed parts you need a SATA cable where at least one end needs to have a 90 degree angle.

You'll also need a power cable from the Molex connector on the SBC to the HDD. I had to combine two adapters to make it work.

Screws needed:

2 x M5: between 40 and 50mm long

4 x M5: 15 mm long

6 x 6-32 “computer” screws. These need to be approximately 10mm long

4 x M3: 4 mm long (for SBC)

Some small rubber dampeners for the feet also helps to avoid noice.
