Espresso Tamper Retainer Ring

I store my espresso tamper on top of a handy flat surface located near the "doser" section of my Rancilio coffee grinder. However, the intense vibration emitted by the grinder frequently resulted in the heavy tamper slipping out of position and eventually plummeting to the countertop with a loud thud. To prevent this frustrating occurrence from happening again, I created this adjustable retainer ring that can securely hold the tamper in place at all times. It works like a charm! My espresso tamper measures 2 and 9/32-inches (approximately 58 millimeters) in diameter. The corresponding hole on my custom-made ring has been precisely sized to be about 61 mm, which offers ample wiggle room for easy handling. For users who prefer a customized fit, I have included the OpenSCAD file for adjusting the ring's dimensions according to their specific tamper sizes. I carefully left the screw holes relatively small in order to allow for simple self-tapping screws that securely fasten the attachment to the grinder's lid. Feel free to use an adhesive of your choice instead if you prefer a more permanent solution.
