ESP32 HikeBuddy
sketchfab
This is a custom ESP32 development board that I designed specifically for creating an advanced hiking/biking computer. The board features a suite of sensors that enable accurate weather monitoring, including humidity, pressure, and temperature readings. It also includes essential navigation tools like an accelerometer, magnetometer, and GPS module. Furthermore, the design allows for seamless integration with other modules via open interfaces for I2C and UART connectivity. The power management system consists of a LiPo charge controller and 3.3V regulator, accompanied by a JST connector for convenient LiPo battery attachment. A user-friendly interface is provided through a 5-way button, an RGB indicator LED, and a 2.7” ultra low-power Sharp Memory LCD display. Additionally, the board features Reset and Flash buttons for effortless programming over USB and an SD card slot for expanded storage capabilities. The ESP32's integrated low-power controller supports WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, enabling various data transfer modes, OTA updates, and connections to BLE sensors such as heart rate monitors, speedometers, and cadence trackers.
