A versatile project box for ESP-12F modules is used extensively for temperature sensing and IR blasting purposes. The SCAD design allows for numerous variations, catering to different requirements. Powering from an internal mini AC power brick or USB powered with a 5 to 3.3V converter are the two options available. Connections for DS18B20 temperature sensors and IR blasters are also provided. A separate SCAD is designed specifically for DS18B20 cable parts, enabling remote temperature sensing without local warming effects. For USB powering, I employ a micro USB connector with easy solder connections combined with a mini adjustable down converter to deliver 3.3V efficiently. For mains powering, HLK-PM03 modules are used due to their compact size. A solderable 500mA slow blow fuse is connected for safety purposes, and the cable is secured inside the housing using a tie wrap. The temp sensor connector I utilize is a 3-pin IC socket connector. To secure it firmly, a little bit of resin glue is added to ensure a tight fit.
