ESP-07/ESP-12 adapter
thingiverse
The ESP-07 and ESP-12 modules are tricky to work with because they have hole spacings that measure 2mm, not the standard 2.54mm spacing found on breadboards. To make them easier to use, you can purchase breakout boards, which I've done. However, my breakout boards are quite wide, so when placed in a standard breadboard, they occupy all the pins on one side. A better solution is this adapter, which has a narrower design that leaves 2 holes unfilled on one side and 3 on the other when inserted into a breadboard. It works best with male-male pin headers that have long pins on each end, like those shown in the fourth photo. Update: I've added a new photo showing the adapter connected to a breadboard as a programmer, with a ds18b20 temperature sensor also plugged in. So far, the socket has been working flawlessly for me without needing any soldering.
