ESD protection for chip-cards (f.e. Telematic)
thingiverse
There are problems with many doctors in Germany reading the chip cards (insurance card). This seems to be due to the fact that the cards charge statically and then cause the card reader to crash. This attachment here can be stuck over the card slot. In addition, a cheap anti-static wristband is needed, which is then connected to a grounding point (e.g., PC case, grounding at a power outlet or similar). This automatically removes static charge from the card when it is inserted, and crashes will at least occur much less frequently. You need to have 2 of the clamps per make.
