ESD bonding + Mains Earth workbench grounding plate

I'm just starting out in the world of 3D printing, and this is my very first design. As an electrician, I'm constantly fixing things, but my hobby room doesn't have a regular main ground connection. Instead of running wires through, I came up with a solution that won't break the bank. Since water and heating system pipes are usually connected to mains earth in older homes - like mine - built before 2000 or so - I attached this plate to the radiator in my room for safety reasons. Before you connect it to any of your pipes, make sure they're actually grounded! The wrist strap uses a post with a 1M ohm resistor and has another port for grounding devices.
