The ancient shield of the city of Carrión de los Condes was quartaled with two chariots whose lances faced each other and had individual castles. Today it can be seen in one of the population's gardens but originally it was located over the old bridge arch, built in 1610. It consisted of an arch with a half point above which two shields stood, one on either side. This one, looking towards the population, and the Castile one, looking towards the river, were finished off at their sides by two stone spheres and topped with a cross. On its western front, under the Castilian shield, the inscription "Reigning D. Felipe III and being Corregidor D. Remírez de Arellano, Regidor of Toro, this work is finished - Year 1610" was written. In the first quarter of the 20th century, with the generalization of motor vehicles, it became necessary to widen the bridge and remove the arch. Unfortunately, it was not simply moved like in other places but disassembled along with the stone parapets, this stone being used for other works in the city.
