This beautiful wood carving was created by my grandfather, Jose Arroyo Lugo, a skilled craftsman with a keen eye for detail. The scene it depicts is a nostalgic snapshot of rural Puerto Rico during the early to mid 20th century. A woman sits serenely in this peaceful setting, her eyes closed in rapt attention as she listens to the sweet sounds emanating from an old victrola.
