This is a custom window mount designed specifically for the Escort Passport Max 2 radar detector, optimized for use on Tesla Model S vehicles of all years. The Tesla Model S windshield features a radar-reflecting surface coating that significantly reduces or completely eliminates the effectiveness of radar detectors. However, there's a small uncoated area located just to the left of the mirror/camera, right behind the rearview mirror, where the radar detector can be mounted for optimal performance. Unfortunately, due to its location, achieving a clear view through this area using a standard sticky cup mount is nearly impossible. This custom window mount solves that problem by providing a wider field of view through the tiny opening and relocating the radar detector out of the way, preventing it from obstructing the visor when lowered. Additionally, it ensures the radar detector remains securely in place, even in high-heat environments where sticky cups are prone to falling off. To install this custom mount, you'll need to disassemble your existing sticky cup by removing its magnetic arm, screw, washer, and tightening cap. Refer to the provided pictures for step-by-step instructions or follow these simple steps: remove the tightening cap, pull out the screw, and detach the magnetic arm. Next, attach the magnetic arm to the custom mount, thread the screw through the holes (ensuring the square side faces the correct direction), and secure it with the tightening cap. For supported versions, don't overtighten the screw as the plastic provides the necessary support; however, for unsupported versions, apply significant force to ensure a strong bond. The supported version is specifically designed for the Tesla Model S windshield's angle, positioning the radar detector level, whereas the unsupported version allows for adjustable mounting angles. Note that the supported version requires supports during printing unless you have an advanced bridging setup, whereas the unsupported version does not require any additional support structures.
