Escavações Arqueológicas do Castelo
sketchfab
Archaeological excavations at the Montemor-o-Novo Castle, which took place on Maria da Vila Hill between 2002 and 2012, uncovered a very curious residential area with occupation until the 17th century. Situated in the old Jewish quarter, these dwellings reveal various stages of occupation and living levels. Excavations since 2015 have been documented several times using aerial photogrammetry (by GEODRONE company and Global Digital Heritage Foundation) to monitor their evolution in terms of conservation. In the summer of 2019, a conservation and restoration campaign was carried out by ArqueoHoje company.
