Escapement - non slip pawls solution
grabcad
An innovative escapement mechanism, featuring just four parts, is presented here. It comprises a pawl wheel, functioning as a reel, and two non-frictional pawls that engage each other. The pendulum's integral part forms the fourth component. This mechanism operates under the force of a weightless string wrapped around the reel, which provides a constant 1.5 N·mm torque clockwise. A slow-motion simulation is displayed, spanning 3:21 minutes for the actual 1:17 minutes. The real-time confirmation is provided by the screen's clock. Between seconds 6 and 8 (real time), a zoom reveals intricate escapement details. To experience this dynamically, open "Escapement - non slip pawls solution.iam" in Inventor Professional 2014 or 2015, access Dynamic Simulation, and play the animation. Upon completion, switch to construction mode and alter the pendulum position for a new simulation. For assembly insights, view the YouTube video links provided. The mechanism was modeled using Inventor 2014, with Dynamic Simulation module in Inventor Professional 2014 being utilized for animation creation.
