Summary Take to the skies somewhere amazing and capture it in a picture! The Escape i Tripod is both a phone tripod and an intergalactic spaceship all in one. Born out of a challenge at MakerBot headquarters during the Make-a-thon, this incredible device was created with just a few clicks on a 3D printer. The instructions were clear: design something breathtakingly beautiful that can be printed quickly and is also incredibly useful, and if you're feeling extra clever, add some moving parts to make it even more impressive! While the Escape i Tripod might not have perfectly followed all of these guidelines, one thing is for sure - it was an absolute blast to create! If I were to suggest any improvements, I would recommend fine-tuning the slider rails and the holes they slide through. Using a .2mm difference worked like a charm on our home machine, but the finely tuned machines at MakerBot HQ had trouble with it - it was way too tight!
