I am in the process of designing and assembling a custom mounting bracket specifically designed to house the "ESCAP 16 Coreless DC 12V 540RPM Gear Motor With encoder 16MM", purchased from an online auction site. This high-performance motor features an advanced quadrature encoder that produces 3456 pulses per revolution, providing precise speed control and position tracking capabilities. However, a close examination of the encoder's pulse output reveals that each pair of even pulses exhibits an 17% deviation in duration when compared to consecutive odd pulses. Further investigation suggests that the quad encoder used by ESCAP might not be perfectly symmetrical, likely comprised of two quadrature detectors set approximately at 135 degrees relative to each other rather than a true 45-degree offset.
