Everyone who thinks direct drive extruder mounts are the way to go will love this design, especially when they ditch the bowden tube due to its high drag and retraction issues. I didn't care for the bowden tube either, so I came up with a mount that eliminates it altogether. This setup also makes printing super flexible filaments a breeze. Here's what you can expect from this direct drive system: - You can use your stock hotend as is to mount the direct drive system. - Better extrusion with less extraction and speed required. - A wider range of filaments becomes available for use. - Easy filament loading is a reality. - No need to open up your hotend; simply clip off the bowden tube 19mm from the top. Note: You'll need longer extruder stepper cables or extensions since the motor will be moved. Rerouting old cables from the right side of your printer might work, but I haven't tried it myself.
