In distant realms beyond the familiar landscape, a secluded community of elves thrived in harmony with nature's splendor and the wild creatures that roamed free. To safeguard their citizens from the ever-present dangers, the elvish theocracy devised the Fireflies: a band of nomadic protectors who traversed the lands, offering aid to those in dire need. As time passed, the Fireflies grew increasingly scarce, and a widely-held conviction arose that spotting one was an auspicious sign, a harbinger of good fortune within the day's journey.
