I recently stumbled upon a fantastic old illustration from A3 - Assault on the Aerie of the Slave Lords, and I was immediately struck by its grandeur. The pillars in particular caught my eye, so I decided to pay homage to the original artist with a modern twist. To get into the right mindset, I referenced two other illustrations: Ranger by Dutchmogul and ankylosaurus by bs3. These pieces helped me establish a sense of scale and classic composition for my new work.
