The Hermitage of Our Lady of the Pillar or the Page was founded by Don Francisco de Pagez and Segura in 1709. It features a single nave and was built by stonemason Don Fernando Lopez. Its façade is formed by an arch of half-point between Corinthian pilasters, with a relief in the upper zone showing the appearance of the Virgin of the Pillar to Santiago. The hermitage passed to be erected as a parish church in 1973 by Bishop Don Miguel Peinado. In 1977 its priest Don Manuel Medina Caballero was arrested and later released to demolish the Hermitage of Mother God of the Field, also from Ubeda. www.uveda.es
