The Hermitage of Our Lady of Vega is located in Valderrueda, León, on land of meadows, alongside the Real Leonesa Trail. It is a simple construction of late Romanesque nave and flat head, built with irregular sandstone blocks and rubble masonry. In 1981 it was subject to a restoration that considerably transformed the original appearance of the building. The thickness of the walls of the nave was increased using brick with plaster, and the joints of the exterior facades were marked with narrow bands of gray cement. Access to the interior of the temple is made through two doorways opened in the south and west walls of the nave. The modeled surface is the south one, formed by a slightly pointed arch that rests directly on the jambs. The head also underwent reform replacing the old stone cornice with the current eaves made of wood. Three corbels have been preserved on the southern side, with human heads of rather rough execution.
